Linda Barton Paul, concert harpist, returns for a third annual benefit supporting Asheville’s preservation mission. The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County (PSABC) is proud to present this special program, A Romance of Music, at the historic Cathedral of All Souls in Biltmore Village on Sunday, September 25th. This year’s performance features an eclectic range of music, classical to contemporary. Rachmaninoff and Debussy, Benny Goodman and George Gershwin, Cat Stevens and Carole King, the list goes on. And audience participation will include more than mere applause — this will be a very special concert.
Talented and versatile, Linda Barton Paul has entertained music lovers all over the US. She is known as a soloist and a symphony harpist, appearing with names ranging from New Christy Minstrels to Judy Collins to Dave Brubeck. The All Souls venue lends great beauty and exceptional acoustics to this PSABC benefit. The Cathedral’s sacred harmonics create a kind of “surround sound”, as Robert Griffin, local architect-preservationist, will highlight to begin the show.
“Linda Barton Paul’s acoustic harp concerts have become a popular tradition for the Preservation Society,” says Jack Thomson, Executive Director, PSABC. “We invite everyone to come hear her performance at All Souls. Our preservation mission is truly blessed.”
The Sunday concert is at 4 pm, September 25th. Advance tickets are $20 AVAILABLE HERE and at the door day of.
