Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville and Buncombe County is home to a lively arts and cultural scene. Asheville is the largest city in western North Carolina and has long been a destination for travelers. The city (population 90,000) has experienced a downtown renaissance and the region lures tourists and residents alike as a hub for outdoor recreation and craft brewing and distilling.
